My BYU Roomies got together and met in sunny California for a quick weekend girls trip! That meant that I had to fly on an airplane by myself for the first time EVER! I'm not going to lie - I was totally nervous!
I used Dave's connection to get us a good deal on a rental car! Lucky for me, Christina was good with driving everywhere so I didn't have to! :)
We arrived a few at a time! Christina, Michelle and I flew on the same flight there, we met Haley, and waited for Kjersta. We picked up our car, and then were STARVING! Christina and Justin had put together a sweet list of all the good food in San Diego, so all we had to do was choose one a find it! Thank you Google maps. We hit up this street taco shack and were NOT disappointed! YUM!
We went for a sunrise run/walk Saturday morning. What a beautiful world we live in! I was in heaven! Exercising with my girls, enjoying good conversations and taking in the beauty of nature!
We went to replenish our sugar supply after our morning work out! We earned it! A visit to the Donut Bar was so yummy!
We went across the bridge to Coronado for the day! We rented bikes and rode around the island - what a beautiful day we had!

Lunch/Dinner at a yummy BBQ place! It was nice to play longer if we wanted to, or move on and do something else. No kids to dictate what we ate, or what we did! It was so nice!
We chased the sunset and caught it by the pier.
Sunday - we went to church, and it was Regional Conference, so we joined a stake center filled with saints. It was so uplifting!
Then we stopped at the SD temple - check out that blue sky!
We walked up and down La Jolla beach - I just couldn't get enough of the sunshine!!!
We asked a couple of teenagers to take "jumping" picture of us!
Monday was go home day, but I had a few things I had to document for the kids! That left side of the couch is where I slept! It was a little lumpy ;) But who was there to sleep anyway?!
I wanted one more sunrise walk/run - I could do that every day for the rest of my life!
The cute little walk way we walked to the beach each day. Kjersta got us a AirBnB just half a block from Mission Beach. It was perfect!
We laughed - that tiny spot under there is where we were supposed to park our beast of a mobster car, and there was NO way we were fitting! We parked on the street, and would walk a few places just so we would have to move the car! Like the grocery store, down to the pier, or down to Baked Bear for a late night treat!
We had breakfast at a little place by the pier, and then walked out to take a few pics.
We saw a guy catch a shark while we were out there.
And then I was the first to leave to go home. :( I had to get back for piano lessons and my cute family.
I sure loved my time with these sister friends! There is nothing like our friendship! I loved all the late night talks, singing in the car, fixing meals together, talking about everything! Here's to MANY more years of friendship and more girls trips! :)
