Soccer, a Funeral and The Grotto

We got back to school hair cuts this week! Except I didn't get any pics of the girls before/after!  

These boys are loving fishing! It's fun that Bryson and Jace are starting to like it too!

We had a neighbor pass away suddenly in a mountain bike accident. Dave Acosta is one of our favorite neighbors. This guy was basically a real life super hero.  He has been a police officer in Las Vegas, a SWAT leader, and trained women in self defense, as well as taught gun safety and shooting.  He was an amazing guy, and will be missed. His funeral was an experience I will never forget.  Dave loved his country and the flag - they really did a great job at the perfect celebration funeral for Dave.  

Our first scare (I say first, because I'm sure there will be more...) with Covid on the HS soccer team....

Dave's funeral at the Rodeo grounds.  It was epic.  It was the saddest, funniest, and perfectly fitting funeral for this larger than life guy!  Some things I want to remember from his funeral were things his kids quoted him saying:

It's not about you, it's about others.

Be the solution.

Be Prepared, not Paranoid.

Life your life.

Fight back!

When people act without hesitation on behalf of others, we win!

Be counted ON, not counted. 

No one dies a second before their time. 

Live your life without regrets.

He died instantly in his accident and was able to donate many organs and bones.  Even in death, he kept serving others!  He lived an epic life, and was such a good example to me.





We tried a new shave ice shack! 















And the follow up - no worries! Soccer was back on after just a couple days!

Since soccer practice was still cancelled for Kaley, we met up with the Roaches to hike the grotto! We love hanging out with this crew!

















We got frostys on the way home!

Bells and Libbs hung out one day! Can't believe how long these two have been friends!  Their whole life! They are excited to be at the same school again!
