Last Wednesday, we left for Idaho. The trip started out rough. Josh and I were up late getting ready and packed, so we didn't get to bed late. Sophie was up ALL night screaming. I took her into Instacare right when they opened that morning. She had an ear infection. That did NOT stop us from going though. :) Sophie ended up sleeping all but about 45 minutes of the 4 1/2 hour trip. The kids did really well on the drive. We only had to stop twice for potty breaks! Amazing! (This was our first try at a road trip since the twins were born.)
We had a perfect trip. We played in the fields, fed the cows, played with cousins, and enjoyed Papa and Grandma. Bella loved the dandelions. We showed her how to blow them. I carefully explained to her that we can blow dandelions in the field, but Daddy doesn't like us to blow dandelions on his grass. :)

Papa gave the kids tractor rides. Bella was a little unsure at first, but was waving like a Rodeo Princess by the end!
Grandma and I took the kids over to the feed lot one morning. Thomas' face says it all. He was LESS than impressed with the smell!

Kaley loved sitting at Grandma's desk and writing notes. Papa dropped by to write Kaley a note too! :) I am sure she spent hours there writing letters and doing stickers!
Once I couldn't find Bells, and I found her in the playroom quietly building a tower.
McCall and Kaley played countless hours together. These two are kindred spirits! I love how nicely they play together. They are such sweet friends.

I took the kids back to help me pack, and this is what happens. Jace took Sophie's binky (this happens alot).

Aw, time to go home. We were so sad to leave! It was a perfect trip. I had so much fun visiting with Grandma and Papa. Grandma kept us well-fed, and it was just lovely. I am so glad to have grandparents so close and who are willing to let us come visit! :)

On our way out of town, I wanted to stop by the cemetery to see if I could find (from memory) my great and great-great grandparents graves. And I did! This is where my Great Papa Ben and Grandma Crouch, Great-Great Grandma and Grandpa Folkman, and Great-Grandpa Robison rest. I was lucky enough to know my Great Grandparents on the Crouch side. Grandpa Robison died when my Mom was 5, so I never knew him. His wife remarried and is still married to Grandpa Daw. We were able to visit with them this trip as well. I was so glad that they came out to say hi!
Here are the kids on the way home! They did so good! :) We did come home, and the next day I took Jace in for an ear infection. I am grateful he waited until we got home! :)
Thanks again for the wonderful time, Papa and Grandma! We love you!
Saturday, we had a BBQ in the backyard with Coxes. Sophie was SO tired! After steaks, we roasted marshmallows. The kids got SO sticky! I love the pics Josh got of the kids!
