We had a fun last week of Summer! Josh was ordained a high priest on Sunday for his new calling in the stake. We had his parents and my parents come down for it. Bro Tanner was there from the stake. I laughed at Jace teaching Pops how to play NBA2K.
Roomie get together! Kjersta was in town, so we met up at the Y trailhead for a late night chat. I brought strawberry heaven and we stayed up late eating and talking just like old times! We were just missing Michelle and Haley! I'm not sure what I did to deserve such amazing friends, but these girls keep me sane! Our Marco Polo chats all week long are such a highlight to each week. I love how they can keep me going, inspire me to do better and uplift when I am down. They are real friends for life!
Thomas had an experience he will never forget this week! On Monday, he was fishing at Salem Pond with some friends. They got hot, so they jumped of the bridge. He remembered to take off his Apple Watch and put it in his bag. When they were done cooling off, he put his watch back on and they moved to fish at a different spot. A little while later, they got hot again, so back to the bridge to jump! This time, he didn't take off his watch. He felt it fall off when he hit the water. He was devastated. They searched for a little bit, but his friend's mom was there to pick them up because he had to be back early for Kaley's soccer game. He was so upset, and I could hardly be mad at him because he was so sad!
Josh texted Dave that night to see if he had any ideas for how to find it in the lake - Dave is a pretty good diver and like to find things on the bottom of lakes. It's like a fun hobby. Dave said, oh I'll just come down and dive for it! So he worked a half day on Tuesday, and then took front runner down to Provo. Danielle was down visiting some friends, so we all ended up at Salem Pond. After diving for a little while, Josh was thinking another prayer, and had no idea what to even pray for! Do we pray to find it, pray that no one gets hurt, pray that T will be ok with the outcome? So he just prayed, "please help." At that same time, Dave had decided to switch tactics. He had just been diving down, and trying to stay on the bottom for as long as he could and then come back up. This time, he thought he'd try to start at the edge of the lake by the bridge and swim along the bottom right under the bridge. It worked! He found the watch that next dive! I still don't know how he found it! It was even still working when Dave brought it up! Thomas was SO happy. Dave found 3 phones, some jewelry, socks - ew, and other weird junk. We got the watch home, stuck it in some rice! It still works!

We are at the fields 3-4 times a week with Kaley for soccer! She is so fun to watch!
Friday night was our Family End of Summer Shebang! We went mini golfing in Orem.
Saturday morning, we went for a hike up to Battlecreek Falls. We did 4 miles! The first mile was lovely, that second was meh. Cool views - but not worth the steep hike in my opinion! We loved the waterfall and hiking near the river!
Saturday afternoon, we had a family party for Jace and Sophie's birthday! Swimming, BBQ, Cake and ice cream!

I get the biggest kick out of some of the memes I see! This one fit my my mood perfectly a couple times this week! I always get this way before school starts. Just not wanting summer to end, and having to get back to a real life grind.
And the wearing masks in a car by yourself, we will never understand... Are their masks actually that comfortable that they forget to rip them off the second that they can?!
