December Stuff

We started this week with a FaceTime chat with Izzy for her birthday!  She is 5!!! What a fun little bundle of joy!

We had a new Swig open up and they were giving away free drinks and cookies on opening day.  



SNOW!!!

Oh, in case you thought it was all sunshine and butterflies over here.... these two have been fighting like crazy ALLLLL week.  By Sunday, it reached a tipping point, and mom and dad cracked!  They had to hug it out forever and say nice things about each other, wrapped in their twins' arms.  They were a little better after this, but wow.  I know that being around your siblings for 24/7 in quarantine times can be hard, but we will love each other by the end of this!  ;)

Sunday YW zoom calls... This is such a weird thing, but we are SO grateful for technology and leaders that are willing to teach on such a different platform.  

Cold recess! We were given new bright orange vests - we guess to be better seen on the playground. They are not flattering in the least! But! I do have a nice vest that I wear UNDER my coat that is battery operated and heats me up! It is saving me this winter!

Basketball has started!  Here's Kaley's fun team of soccer friends.  They are hilarious to watch! I don't think they care as much about winning, as having a fun time and being together!

Thomas got his braces off!!!!! He didn't like his smile right off the bat. He says his teeth are too big, and he liked them better with Blue and Y on them! I'm hoping he will just get used to them! They aren't going anywhere, and I love his smile!











Deacon's quorum came around to welcome new deacons! Jace was pretty excited!

Kaley with her friends - I took her friend group over to South County Lanes for her birthday party. They played laser tag and bowled all night! 

Sweet 16!

Kaley's 16th Birthday was in quarantine.  I was the MOST disappointed about this as a result from being sick. I knew how much it meant to her, and what a BIG deal it is to turn 16! Lucky for me, I have the best friends that stepped up and served me by serving my girl! AND, Kaley has the BEST friends! She was spoiled and surprised ALL DAY LONG!!!  It was so fun to see her get attention this way.

We opened presents

Auntie Linz dropped off a gift with a soccer keychain and a toy car.  Love it!



My VTer, Annie had been checking on me and I had told her how bad I felt about dashing Kaley's 16th birthday dreams. She offered to drop off balloons and a treat! How sweet!!!  It came at a perfect time during the morning, and really kicked off the day just right!

We went out and bought a Christmas tree - I was the one that checked out because I was "out" of Q.

We decorated the tree - which is one of Kaley's favorite things.

Her friends dropped off porch treats and gifts - these are from Karen and Meagan, soccer friends.

Grammie made her an awesome "Sweet" 16 cake - so much sugar!!! She knows Kaley so well.

THEN, on Monday - we went right after school to go get her official license!!!!  


It really was a SWEET day, with this SWEET girl! I cannot believe that she is 16. She is so responsible and helpful around the house. She was already asked on her first date, but couldn't go because of her choir concert. She has many friends and makes them feel like she is their best friend. She is all things teenager with her phone, driving and friends. Mix in a lot of soccer, basketball, cleaning/organizing and music, and that's my girl!  I can't wait to see what come next Lu!

A Quarantined Week

With our exposure and experience with Covid, we had to keep the kids home an extra week to watch them for symptoms. So we did home school online again! This time, the kids were pros though! The first day, we didn't have the twins' chromebooks, so we had them just sit in the kitchen.  Natalie Roach went and picked up school work and laptops for the kids. Seriously, my friends were ANGELS through this week!

We created gingerbread houses!

My BFF, Lacie, dropped off a cute plant to lift my spirits!  It was a rough week of not feeling well and feeling like I put everyone's plans and lives in the trash for the week.  





I tell you what, doing 6th grade math is not for the weak in heart! Between the two of these kiddos, we figured it out though!  Their teacher was amazing - sending us notes and things to help us get it all figured out!

My BYU roomies/sisters sent a sweet note and blanket hugs. How thoughtful! They are such a blessing to me!



Jace and Soph worked on their 6th grade stained glass window project.  

Jace's fort grew everyday during this week. He sat in there and did school, played legos, and took naps. 

One night we went for a drive to see the Salem Pond Lights.
