My night off!

So last night, I requested the night off!  Josh gave me a Tai Pan Trading Company gift card for Mother's Day, and I have been dying to use it!  So I left Kaley and Thomas with Josh, and I took Bella with me!  I went to Tai Pan, and spent most of my gift card!  I bought summer decorations for on top of my cupboards - pictures will follow as soon as I am finished!  Then I went to Brighton High School for Clarissa's final choir concert.   It was a wonderful time! Grandpa kept Bella with him most of the time, (which I'm sure he didn't mind!).  They have this fun little tradition that the last two songs of the concert they invite the alumni present to come up and sing with them!  I went up and stood by Lyss and sang!  It was fun!  I couldn't help but feel a little nostalgic at the whole experience!  I even saw a few fellow Madrigals there!  Lesley, Val and Robbie were also there supporting their younger siblings!  It was fun to see them and catch up for just a bit.  All four of us have little babies right now, (Val's wasn't there).  It is fun to see my friends in their new "grown up" lives!  Thanks Lyss, for a fun night!  You did awesome!  I am excited to come to more of your performances in years to come!   You did your sister proud!

Weighing in

Today was Bella's 4 month check up!  I do not wonder now why she is out growing Kaley's baby clothes at such a high rate!  Bella is 26 1/2 inches tall - 97-100th percentile, 16.6 lbs - 97-100th percentile, and has a noggin' size of 42 cm - 75th percentile!  She is taller than Thomas was at this age, and is weighs just barely less (.6 lbs)!  It makes me wonder if I have a little Tankerina on my hands!   To put Bella's size in perspective for me, Dr. Berry said, Bella is the size of an average 7 month old!  Also, she could stay this size until she was 11 months, and still be in the 10th or 20th percentile for that age!  Geeze!  Dr. Berry says that I should sell my milk to the Ethiopians to fatten them up!  He is always making comments about my milk supply!  With Kaley and Thomas he affectionately named me the "Dairy Queen."  I don't know if I quite like it, but I guess that means healthy, chubby babies!

3 Joys

1. I love sitting in the sunshine! I love the warmth on my skin! I love the feeling that you know you are getting a tan! In the winter, I will open the curtains in the house and sit in the sun that shines through the window onto the carpet!

2. I love teaching Kaley and Thomas about the world we live in! I love watching their faces as they see new things, especially animals! My favorite memories are from last year in San Diego. We took the kids to the zoo, the wild animal park and Sea World. They loved it!

3. I love dates with Josh! It is hard to get time alone when you have 3 little kids! I love spending time with Josh and remembering why we fell in love. It helps me feel like an individual again! I remember how I love going to movies, playing mini golf, eating good food (without referee-ing little kids), holding hands (without battling with Kaley and Thomas for Dad's hands), getting dressed up and just being around my honey!

3 Fears

1. Losing my husband. Ever since I got married, I have been paranoid that something bad will happen to Josh. Then I watched P.S. I Love You - which I cried uncontrollably for the entire 2 hour movie. Nothing has hit me harder. I don't know what I would do without Josh.

2. Car wrecks. I agree with my friend, Laura on this one. I am terrified about us getting into an accident - especially with my kids in the car. I consider myself a very cautious and careful driver, but the other drivers that make me nervous. I would never forgive myself if something happened to one of my kids in an accident.

3. Fire. When I was 4 or 5, I can remember there was a fire across the street where we lived. I could feel the heat through the wall in my bedroom. I was so scared! I think ever since then I have been afraid of fire. I don't like the movie Bambi for the same reason.

3 Goals

1. Catch up on my scrapbooking. I got alittle behind when we moved. I am up to March of this year.

2. Finish our yard. I am learning how to plant flowers and all sorts of plants! It has never really been an interest to me, but I am loving it!

3. Lose the baby fat! Enough said. I am exercising a few times a week and attempting to eat better.

3 Current Obsessions/Collections

1. Reading - I have discovered how much I love to read! I love Stephenie Meyer's books, Nicholas Sparks books, Harry Potter and anything by Sheri Dew - that woman moves me! I am braching out and trying new books too.

2. I love Cesear salads. I have found a cesear dressing that I really like, and have learned how to make my own salad. Yum!

3. Crafts! I am learning how to be "domestic." I have painted a couple rooms in our house. I go to the craft enrichment nights! I love to scrapbook! I love to decorate above my cabinets in my kitchen! Ever since my sister-in-law, Tricia taught me how, I have kept it up!

3 Random, surprising facts about myself

1. I always have my toes painted! I have one specific color that I love! I even had Josh paint them once while I was pregnant!

2. I sing everywhere I go. I love to sing in the car especially. I think I have passed this trait along to Kaley! We love to sing musicals in the car! Hairspray is our favorite right now.

3. I love to watch all the "teenie-bopper" shows. Josh makes fun of me because I love to watch shows with Amanda Bynes, Zac Efron, and Corbin Blue in them! The High School Musical movies are some of my favorites!

Big boy Thomas!

So, as you may or may not know, Josh loves change!  He loves changing jobs, moving houses, rearranging furniture, and switching rooms!  He thrives on it!  So every couple months we move something around!  This weekend it happened to be the kids' room and play room that were attacked!  

We switched Thomas to a toddler bed, and decided there really wasn't room in their room for his little new bed.  So we traded rooms with the play room.  What a task!  Thomas is loving his new freedom!  This morning he made me laugh!  He got out of bed, put his binky in the drawer and came out to get me.  (Being very quiet because Kaley was still sleeping!)  What a sweet boy!  They still like to mess around and get out of bed when they are supposed to be going to sleep.  What do I do about this?  Most kids have had to share a room - does this happen all the time?  

I am still in the middle of this project though.  It is time to switch seasons for clothes as well.  This means taking out the clothes that don't fit and putting them in bins.  Then, get out the clothes for the next size/season.  Yesterday was laundry day, so all the clothes are folded on the floor in the loft, and ALL the drawers they are supposed to go in are also on the floor in the loft.  Can you picture the organized mess?  I ran out of steam, and the project will probably not get finished during nap time today, as it should.  Maybe after bed time.  

Bella Rose - 4 months old!

At four months old, my little Bella is adorable!  She started giggling this week!  I love that!  She started reaching for things and loves to play with her hands.  She loves the feel of skin on her hands.  She is quite the smiley baby!  Her eyes are doing so much better!  They still get goopy every now and again, but they are much better!  

Saturday Yard Work!

I took the day off of piano lessons because of Memorial Day Weekend, so we actually got to work in the yard as a family!  We finished our front flower bed, and planted 2 trees in our front yard!  

The Museum of Natural History Adventure

We took a little field trip yesterday and went to the Museum.  It was quite a fun time!  We went with Grandma, Aunt Chalae, Elyzabeth, Lolee, Hayes, Aunt Rachel, Ethan, Makenzie, Aunt Staci, and Dallin.  Plus me and my 3!  We were quite the sight!  The kids had fun digging for Dinosaur bones.  We came away from the outing with 2 of my favorite pictures now!  I am sure you can guess which ones they are.  The one of me and Bella, and the one with me and my brood!  So cute!

My gardening skills

So - yesterday I got my little patch of dirt ready to have the appropriate seasonal flowers planted in them.  Today - I planted!  I am quite impressed with my skills!  It does make my little home quite homey!  Bella was a good little trooper and talked to me the whole time.  Kaley helped me put the flowers in the holes I dug; and Thomas played with the big broom, and swept up the dirt that got on the sidewalk!  I have created an OCD child in him!  Too cute!

Josh was playing around with the camera and captured a couple of cute pictures of the kids!  Thomas doesn't look to happy, but I love seeing those bright blue eyes!

An evening out!

Our dear friend Kjersta is moving this week!  They are moving away to Dental school far away!  We will miss them!  We celebrated her birthday by going out to dinner at the Trolley restaurant in Springville.

Adventures from Thomas' birthday

Sorry it has taken me so long to post birthday pictures from Thomas' day!  We got a new camera and a new computer, and getting the two to jive is tricky!  I am still learning!  

On Thomas' birthday, we opened presents, went to church and fed the ducks at BYU.  So here are a couple of my favorites from the day!

What happens while Mom is away.....

I had a RS meeting yesterday, and when I came back the kids showed me what they did with Dad while I was gone.  Our computer can take pictures of whatever is sitting in front of it!  The kids thought it was pretty cool that they could see themselves on the computer screen!
