Girls Camp! We started a little rough with Kaley. She was stung by a wasp at soccer practice Tuesday morning. She took Benadryl, and iced it and was ok! She continued to play soccer that morning, and even went to a 2nd soccer practice that night. Wednesday morning though, her foot was pretty swollen and I was worried I'd need to take her to Urgent Care for meds. We talked to a nurse in our ward who thought that they wouldn't be able to do anything about it. So I gave her extra drugs, said extra prayers and sent her on her way. She started texting me about 10:30 saying that it was feeling bad and was swelling more. She got some ice from a gas station and still had an hour and a half to camp. Once she got there it was worse. She elevated it and iced it some more and waited for more drugs to kick in. About 5:00 pm she called me in tears. She was not ok, and it was still hurting and was more swollen! She said her pain level was a 7-8, which is like an 11 for a normal person! I talked to her leaders and we decided to have them take her in to the dr. There were no urgent cares open, so ER it was! I listened in on the phone, and they were able to give her a steroid and antibiotics. They could only give her a day and a half dose, so I picked up the rest of the prescription and sent it to camp the next day.
She called me Thursday morning and said, "Hi mom! I just wanted to tell you that the medicine is working and I'm feeling so much better!" I was relieved! Once she got the meds she needed, she was good to go! I am SO thankful for those leaders (Sis Heap and Sis Peterson) that took her to the ER and all the other mom leaders that took care of her!
Now, enjoy all these pics that they sent out from camp! It looks like a LOT of fun!!! It was Sophie AND Bella's first time going! There was not a lot of sleep!
