Week Six

Oh this week was LONG.  Nothing too exciting to note.  I did get to go to the school to pick up some labeling to work on from home!  I just did about a dozen or so books each day.  I will hopefully get to pick up another box tomorrow!  I also started doing some FaceTime calls with a student to have her read to me.  I had a Zoom faculty meeting this week too.  That's about it on the work front for me!

We had super nice weather days - which resulted in the worst allergy day on Wednesday - I really wanted to die.  On Monday, I mowed the lawn, and then we went to get Sonic drinks and did our reading out on blankets in the yard.  

Thursday was the typical low of the week - not sure why Thursdays are the worst, but I think this week it was due to allergies on Wednesday, and the fact that there is nothing to look forward to anymore...  Thursdays used to be pre-Friday, almost the weekend.  Josh was a saint this week and brought me Chili's chips and salsa - that got me thru the rest of the week/weekend.  

My tulips finally blossomed too!  They are a bright spot in the yard right now.  Love them!

And my wreath came!  I thought it would be larger, but it is the perfect combination of colors!

Week Five

Each week, there is less and less that excites me enough to take a picture to document.  We are just in a swing of life that is "normal" - I guess as normal as it can be right now.  

Jace and Bryson have enjoyed a few FaceTime calls - this day, they played Battleship together.  I think it's pretty funny how creative they have had to be!

Jace and Soph got into Legos this week pretty hard core.  It was a rainy week, so lots of time indoors.  

I attended Book Club via Zoom this week.  Thank heavens for wonderful friends.  We read the first 2 parts of The Saints. It was a good thing to read to prepare for General Conference.  

Jace and Soph - I can't even say how much fun and a relief that it has been to have these two in the same class this year and working on the same stuff.  They have helped each other do math, reading, and Zoom calls.  It's pretty cute.

 

One rainy day, we built a large whole room fort and watched a Marvel movie - that means it was boys' choice day. ;)

Saturday, we spent the whole day doing insulation in the basement!  It was crazy how much that changed the sound down there!  

Sunday entertainment - ping pong balls and pots.  

 

Another week down!

Week Four - Spring Break

This was literally my mood Monday, the first day of Spring Break.  In all my prepping for everything else that was going on - and Easter Holy Week, I hadn't thought very much about what we would do Spring Break week without school at home to keep our mornings busy.  We had a lazy-ish day on Monday, trying to figure out what our week would look like, and what fun things we could think up to do.

We came up with a cleaning chore for every day, and a craft for each day. We also did some sort of exercise each day: run, bike, rollerblade, walks...

One day was cleaning out the kitchen drawers.

We went for a few runs - we also had a competition to see who could hold a plank the longest, and who could do the most pushups.  No one was surprised that Jace won both of those!  He held a 3 minute plank, and did 30 push ups in a row.

We weeded the hill one warm morning.

We painted for a craft one day.

We were blessed with some pretty nice weather during the week!  We rode our bikes over to the ball fields to play kick ball as a family one evening.

We rode our bikes all the way up to the golf course park and played there and Thomas fished for a bit.

We had a warm night so the kids slept outside. 

We rode our bikes through the drive through at Wendy's for fries and frostys one day. 

Jace and Sophie miss their class and teacher!  Mrs Hollister dropped off a cute Easter treat during Spring Break!

We painted our front door. We first painted it when we moved in, but I never loved the color.  This was the week to try something new!  I went to Lowes and got some paint and the girls and I set to work!

Finished product!  Now I'm waiting for my new wreath to arrive in the mail!  Yay!

Grammie and Pops brought an Easter Egg hunt down to us... quarantine style.  We missed doing it with little cousins!

Grammie brought home made masks for everyone too.  

Our kids have spend SO many hours on the tramp in the last 4 weeks.  Of all the things we have bought for our children, this one has given us the most bang for our buck!  They play the weirdest games, do crazy tricks, and play with each other!  

We had our own sort of hunt at our house this year.  We hid candy bars - 5 for each kid - and we hid them really hard!  Then we hid a $20 bill for each kid!  We were surprised how long it took them to find all the candy bars and each $20 prize! 

(This is the only picture I got of our Holy Week wall!  We celebrate something each day and learn a little bit about the last week of our Savior's life.  It really is one of my favorite weeks!)

Easter Sunday pictures.  It was chilly and windy, so this didn't last long!  The boys didn't get new ties this year because I didn't get to that BC (before Corona).  The girls' dresses had been bought a couple months ago on a shopping trip with just Kaley and Me.

It will be a Spring Break we won't ever forget - for all the unusual reasons!  We were sad to not be in St George with the Roaches, but are hoping for the "all clear" before August - when we had to reschedule to.
